Jo Lambert, MD, PhD, is Full Professor of Dermatology and Venereology in and, since 2017, Academic Head of the Department of Dermatology, Ghent University, in Ghent, Belgium. She has held several positions at Ghent University and Hospital over the years, including Lecturer in Dermatology and Director Dermatology Research Unit (2000–2007), Chairperson of the Department of Dermatology (2008–2017), and Division Manager for 8 medical departments, including Dermatology (2009–2012). Professor Lambert studied medicine, specializing in dermatology and venereology, at Ghent University Hospital and earned a PhD degree there in 2000. She has conducted research at laboratories across the globe, including the USA, UK, France, and the Netherlands. Professor Lambert’s principal research interests are chronic immune-mediated skin diseases and principles of value-based healthcare. Professor Lambert is currently President of the Royal Belgian Society of Dermatology and Venereology and a member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, European Society of Dermatology Research, American Academy of Dermatology, and European Dermatology Forum. She was a board member and Treasurer of the European Society for Pigment Cell Research (2003–2012), and has been a board member of the Fondation René Touraine since 2013 and President of the Scientific Committee of the Skin Inflammation and Psoriasis International Network since 2017. She is the co-inventor of two patents and, in 2000, received the Roche Fundamental Research Award. Professor Lambert has been Associate Editor of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology since 2014 and has published more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
