Lluís Puig is Director of the Department of Dermatology, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and Professor of Dermatology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) Medical School, both in Barcelona, Spain.
During the past 14 years, Professor Puig has focused on clinical research in the treatment of psoriasis with biological agents. He is considered to be a key opinion leader in this area, both nationally and internationally, and has given presentations at numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars and provided advice to several pharmaceutical companies. He has authored several book chapters and numerous papers in indexed journals, having an h-index of 42. He is a member of the editorial board of Dermatology and other journals in the field of dermatology.
Professor Puig is a member of many national and international scientific societies including the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AEDV), the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the Ibero-Latin American College of Dermatology (CILAD), the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP), and the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA). He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the EADV since 2013, representing the Spanish members, and is Co-Chair of the Psoriasis Task Force of the EADV, Councillor and board member of the International Psoriasis Council (IPC), President of the Scientific Board of the Psoriasis International Network (PIN) and the Fondation René Touraine (FRT), a member of the European Dermatology Forum, and Vice-President of the Administration Council of the FRT.
