Curdin Conrad is the Head of the Policlinic and the Centre for Psoriasis of the Department of Dermatology at Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland. Professor Conrad participated in the postgraduate course in experimental medicine and biology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Following his dermatology training in Zurich and postdoctoral research at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, USA, he returned to Switzerland, where he joined the Department of Dermatology at CHUV/Lausanne University Hospital.
He has been the Principal Investigator on multiple preclinical and clinical trials in psoriasis, and serves as an external scientific expert for several international societies and foundations. He is an elected councillor of the prestigious International Psoriasis Council (IPC). Professor Conrad’s research interests include the roles of innate and adaptive immunity in inflammatory skin diseases, focusing particularly on psoriasis. He has received several scientific awards for his basic and translational research in these areas, including the Eugene M. Farber Psoriasis Award and the Roche Prize for Excellence in Research.
Professor Conrad’s work has been published more than 50 times in papers, book chapters, and renowned journals such as Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, Nature Communications, the Journal of Experimental Medicine, the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and the Journal of Immunology, and has been cited more than 3,500 times.
