William Tillett is Consultant Rheumatologist at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD) in Bath, UK, and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy & Pharmacology at the University of Bath. He earned his BSc degree in anatomical science in 1997 and his medical degree (MBChB) in 2003, both from the University of Bristol (Bristol, UK). Then, he undertook a doctoral fellowship in outcome measurements in psoriatic arthritis and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2006. In 2014, Dr Tillett earned his PhD degree from the University of Bath.
Dr Tillett’s current research interests centre on the assessment of psoriatic arthritis (clinical, radiographic, and patient-reported outcomes), early detection of disease, and treatment strategies. In 2015, he was awarded a European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) Clinical Scientist Award. He currently sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Rheumatology and is a member of the adult inflammatory arthritis group of the Versus Arthritis – Research Advisory Groups.
Dr Tillett co-authored the 2013 British Society of Rheumatology (BSR) psoriatic arthritis anti-TNF guidelines, and currently co-chairs the guideline update committee. He is Co-Chair of the international psoriatic arthritis Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) working group, a member of the international Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), and a trustee for the Bath Institute for Rheumatic Diseases (BIRD).
