Brian Kirby is Consultant Dermatologist at St Vincent’s University Hospital and Full Clinical Professor at University College Dublin, both in Dublin, Ireland. He is also the Head of the Dermatology Research Group at St Vincent’s University Hospital and Principal Investigator at the Charles Institute of Dermatology, University College Dublin.
Professor Kirby’s clinical and research interests include psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa.
Professor Kirby is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists Biologics Registry Steering Committee, the International Psoriasis Council (IPC), the Board of the Charles Institute of Dermatology, and the Irish Skin Foundation (ISF). He has more than 180 MEDLINE-quoted publications to his name, the majority of which are on psoriasis. Professor Kirby is co-author with Professor A. David Burden of the chapter entitled Psoriasis and Related Disorders in Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology, 9th Edition, and has contributed to multiple other dermatology textbooks. He is Associate Editor of a number of journals, including the British Journal of Dermatology.
